Dipping Since 4/2023
I have never liked the cold, never liked being cold, never even liked the feeling of getting into a heated pool (Hot Tubs are lovely). What I do enjoy, however, is spending as much time outdoors as possible and here in Mill Valley this often means the weather is a bit chilly due to fog. My goal in cold dipping was simple: increase tolerance to colder temperatures so spending time outdoors would be more enjoyable. I can say that over a year into weekly dipping, my efforts have definitely paid off. I am definitely more tolerant of cold weather and feel more comfortable being outdoors when the weather is less than ideal. I also discovered that if I go for a jog right after a cold dip I warm up pretty painlessly and quickly so this has become my routine. By 1 mile into the run I no longer feel cold and after 2 miles I'm fully re-warmed. What I love about dipping with EFcoSF is the fantastic people I get to talk to each time I go and the beautiful setting we get to dip in. I don't think I would enjoy solo cold-dips in a tub at my home.
